Week of Pink ~ Get Your Winter Skin Valentine’s Day Ready

The weather forecast in PA this weekend read, “life threatening cold, record lows”. Months of dry air, high winds and snow, has left my skin chapped, dry and dull. Below are some of my absolute favorite products to get your skin back to being fresh and full of moisture so that you are glowing for your Valentine’s Day date. Enjoy!

  • Trade Joe’s Lavender Salt Scrub
    • For around $5, this salt scrub is far more luxurious that you would imagine! Its thick and gritty, and full of moisturizing oil. The fragrance is spa worthy, but not overwhelming, plus it’s made with salt (so of course, I love it).
  • Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish (not pictured)
    • If you are willing to spend a bit more, this sugar scrub is a great alternative to the Trader Joe’s version above. It also contains ginseng root extract and peppermint, which helps to get rid of all those dry patches, and make it smell amazing.
  • Bobbi Brown Beach Oil
    • Because why wouldn’t you want to smell a little bit of summer in the middle of February? I use this year round because the scent is intoxicating – it reminds me of my mother’s warm summer skin, soaked in Skin-So-Soft. It’s smells of jasmine, sea spray and mandarin, plus, its pink! It contains four essential oils: sesame, olive, avocado and jojoba. I put it on after my shower, put a few drops in my bath, and even rub a few drops on my wrists, or neck, when I need a pick-me-up.
  • Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil
    • This is perfect, less expensive, alternative to the Bobbi Brown oil above. You don’t get the scent, or the four oils, but you can’t beat the price point for everyday. It’s extremely light weight, but deeply moisturizing. It also absorbs instantly so you can get dressed immediately after your shower, without the risk of damaging your clothes. Truly, I also love Johnson & Johnson original Baby Oil, but its thicker and takes longer to absorb. Generally, I only use J&J at night before bed.
  • Fresh Sugar Eau de Parfum
    • This is another traditionally summer fragrance (I love it paired with the Bobbi Brown oil) that I love to use in the middle of winter. It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day with its bright citrus and light floral scent. The lemon version of this same perfume is also incredibly refreshing and sweet. It completely captures the essence of sugar.
  • Clarisonic Mia
    • I can’t say enough about how much I love my Clarisonic. I use it at least 4 times/week to slough off dead skin cells and clean out my pores, which allows your moisturizer to do its thing without distraction!
  • Mario Badescu Facial Rose Water
    • This spray gives your face an extra glow, locks in moisture, and helps your make-up stay dewey all day! Plus, your face smells like soft roses, which always makes me feel extra polished. I love all facial waters, but this one is a daily go-to and at about $7 you can’t beat it!
  • Milani Baked Blushes in Dolce Pink & Luminoso
    • The best blush I have ever bought – and I have probably bought hundreds. I have spent an arm and a leg on expensive blushes, and these two are super inexpensive (less than $7) and look good on just about everyone. They have a little shimmer but aren’t full on glitter (…sometimes I really do miss middle-school) and leave you glowing. You will fall in love with them, I promise.
  • Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream Normal/Dry
    • My daily go-to night cream. This product doesn’t have any anti-aging ingredients, which I normally gravitate towards (being the sun worshiper that I am); however, when my skin is dry – this is my go-to. Its light and creamy and deeply moisturizing and I love the scent. It’s perfect for right after an evening shower.
  • Ulta Encore Pink, OPI Pink FridayEssie Need a Vacation
    • It would’t be Valentine’s Day without a fresh pink manicure.  These are some of my favorite baby pinks: pink without being too “bubblegum”.
  • Benefit Lolli Balm
    • This balm gives you a good flirty, natural lip with its sheer color. It contains mango butter and sodium hyaluronate giving you the extra moisture of a chapstick with the color of a gloss. I don’t normally like tinted lip balms, but this one’s a keeper.

with grace and salt – and glowing pink cheeks,
